West Maui and Molokai Helicopter TourThe remote geography of West Maui and Molokai’s north shore are beautiful examples of land so rugged and isolated they have resisted modern life on their own. Your pilot will whisk you away to the place where the world’s highest sea cliffs rise from the blue Pacific waves along Molokai’s north shore. Called “the backside” by locals, this verdant but rugged terrain is home to over 250 varieties of Hawaiian plants, over 200 of which can’t be found anywhere else in the world. This lush tropical jungle and the pali (cliffs in Hawaiian) are home to dozens of beautiful cascading waterfalls but very few people. Aside from the monumental pali, Molokai’s shoreline also boasts pristine white sand beaches such as Papohaku Beach. The tour will continue with a journey into the emerald valleys of the West Maui Mountains. Stunning bridal veil falls explode from the steep ridges that run from the highest peak, Pu’u Kukui, all the way to the jagged coastline. This dormant volcano is very old, and all manner of indigenous plant life have taken root and flourished creating a thick rainforest jungle. ‘Iao Valley, the most well known of the West Maui Mountains, is home to a natural rock pinnacle once used as an altar as well as all manner of indigineous flora. Maui and Molokai are characterized by extreme terrain, and there are no roads and very few trails into the mountains. This inaccessibility has created an island oasis of pastoral beauty, and you can see it all while hovering above. Each guest will also be given a personalized video of the tour so you can enjoy the sights for years to come. |
