Ultimate Instructional Helicopter Tour PackageBe your own pilot as you tour the island of Kauai. Kauai is one of the oldest of the Hawaiian Islands. Kauai was created by a volcano nearly four million years ago. The volcano later collapsed, leaking lava that created an awesome landscape of red and green valleys and mountains. Among the amazing sites of Kauai are the Napali coastline, Mount Wai’ale’ale, and Waimea Canyon. The Napali coastline is a shore of jagged cliffs with hidden caves and gushing waterfalls set in the background of the Pacific Ocean. Mount Wai’ale’ale is the highest mountain on Kauai and one of the wettest spots on earth. The climate has created a unique landscape of rare Hawaiian plants. Waimea Canyon is ten miles long, one mile wide, and more than three thousand feet deep. The once black lava rock that formed this valley has since turned bright red, creating a colorful landscape. Your pilot will introduce you to these sites while also teaching you how to fly the helicopter yourself. You’ll begin your instruction on land as an FAA-certified pilot takes you through some brief training. In the air, your pilot will continue to train you on the helicopter’s flight controls. Then you will take control and bring the helicopter back to the airport. Helicopters were developed and built during the first half of the twentieth century. Because the helicopter can take off and land vertically and can hover for extended periods of times, it is the best way to see the island of Kauai. The helicopter can take you to places on the island that cannot be reached by automobile. |
